Anti-reflection structures are structures on a surface that reduce the reflection and increase the transmission on a surface compared to the same surface in a blank state.

The anti-reflection structures can be applied directly to any formable material like thermoplastics or UV curable materials by nanoimprinting or roll2roll or it can be defined on non-formable materials by nanoimprint lithography of a resist and subsequent pattern transfer by etching. The anti-reflection effect is achieved by modification of the surface topography on a sub-wavelength scale.

Our anti-reflection structures make use of the bio-inspired moth-eye effect to create a 3D sub-wavelength surface topography, resulting in a graded refractive index profile which reduces the reflection of the surface.
