NIL Technology can deliver micro- and nanostructured free-form steel inserts, to be used in production of polymer parts by injection molding. We have extensive experience in combining nano-scale features with injectionmolding processes.
NIL Technology can produce steel surfaces or steel tool inserts. We can also deliver steel inserts, as well as nickel shims and silicon masters to be used in production of functionalized surfaces or lab-on-a-chip products. This is done by injection molding. We have extensive experience in combining nano-scale features with injection molding processes.
With features down to 300 nm linewidth. We can supply the steel insert with nanostructures or we can process custom inserts that are provided by the customers.
The nanostructured tool inserts fit into existing injection molding tools and can be used to create polymer parts with new functional surfaces directly in the molding process – we call this technology Functionality by Structure (FBS®).

The technology has been demonstrated in more than 100,000 injection molding cycles without sign of degradation – even for the very fine 300 nm features.
